2015 will be the 105th Homecoming at the University of Illinois. The overall record for the Fighting Illini on Homecoming is 45-57-2. The first recorded homecoming game was 1910 and the Illini defeated Chicago with a score of 3-0. The Fighting Illini football team beat the Golden Gofers of Minnesota in last year's homecoming game with a final score of 28-24.
The University of Illinois takes pride in that it is one of the original Universities to celebrate Homecoming which is a now ubiquitous annual tradition across the nations campuses. The beginning of the perennial event can be credited back to 1909 when two students C.F. Williams and W. Elmer Ekblaw conceived the celebration
The 2015 season begins against Kent State on Friday, September 4. Season ticket renewal rates have approached a six-year high and fans should order season tickets asap. Season tickets prices start at $13 per match-up.
