Now he can add USC Hall of Fame to his list of noteworthy accolades. Recently Mr. Del Rio was selected to the eleventh class of the University of Southern California's Hall of Fame.
Coach Del Rio, along with the other 15 inductees, will be introduced at an introductory dinner on May 16 at the John McKay Center.
During his career as a Trojan, Coach Del Rio excelled both on the football field and the baseball diamond, playing catcher for the baseball team as well as linebacker on Saturdays.
He was named a consensus All-American and Lombardi Award runner-up as a senior and was named Co-MVP of the 1985 Rose Bowl. Additionally, he was named to the All-Pac 10 first team and won the 1984 Pop Warner Award as the most valuable senior on the Pacific Coast.
