The Fighting Illini football team finishes the spring practice season with the annual Orange and Blue Spring Game on Saturday, April 18, at 5 p.m. A number of events will accompany the game, including a free kids clinic which takes place before the game, a kids zone for the youngsters on the field during the length of the game and a merchandise sale . This event, the Football Family Fun Fest, has proven to be quite popular with kids and parents so this year it is taking place simultaneously with the Spring scrimmage. the goal is an action packed day of fun for fans of all ages. The kids clinic will take place from 2-3 p.m. inside Memorial Stadium. Children 13 and under will be able to participate in football drills and games coached by the Fighting Illini student-athletes on the field. Although the clinic is a no-charge event, on-site registration is for all cha must for those who want to take part in the action on the field. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. inside Gate 23. to make the registration easier attendees can print the waiver form ahead of time, have it filled out and present it at registration. Free parking will be available in the Northwest and Northeast parking lots of State Farm Center, Lot 32 (E14) and in the grass lot on the corner of Fourth and Kirby (if weather permits). After the clinic, the Stadium will stay open through the Spring Game. Concession stands will have food and beverages available as the Fighting Illini warm-up for the 5 p.m. scrimmage. The annual Orange and Blue Spring Game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. and will be televised live by the Big Ten Network. Admission is free and will give fans the chance to see the Fighting Illini getting ready for the 2015. All seating for the Spring Game will be on the East side of Memorial Stadium. For the second straight year, kids can participate in football activities and play on inflatables on a mini-field in the Kids Zone, located in the south end zone, before and during the Spring Game. To participate, each child will need to get a wristband at the marketing table in the East Great Hall and enter the field from section 109.
