Raiders beyond Free Agency and Draft in 2015

The NFL Draft is now over and the dust has settled. The Oakland Raiders' team roster for better or worse is in place for the time being. Granted the organization could pick up a free agents or a member of the squad could be let go between now and the season but it is what it is, as they say.
It appears that overall the Raider roster is moving in the right direction compared to 2014 season. The free agency and draft has been managed well by the powers that be behind the Raider organization and so far it appears the team is putting itself in a much better position to etch more checks in the win column this coming year. On paper the team is better stocked with a talent pool that should lead to a shift in the direction the team has been going as of recent past.
This a review of the current teams running back chart. We are five months into 2015 and Oakland has been notably aggressive with trying to fill a variety holes in the roster and has done fairly well between the NFL Draft and free agency moves. Spring ball is upon us and it seems as good a time as any to take a look at where things stand.
The Raiders appear to be content and somewhat solid at the quarterback, receiver positions. The question looms as to the future in the running back department.
The draft resulted in no new additions at RB. Unless some moves are made between now and the start of the season the Raiders are set to enter the 2015 season with Trent Richardson, Roy Helu, and Latavius Murray as the go-to set of backs. The talent is there but the production remains to be seen and is a legitimate question based on past performance results per player.
Murray is a athlete with potential but his performance to date has failed to produce the consistent results. to be fair he has been limited with few opportunities to shine. So his status can be safely categorized as unproven but still a hopeful break-out type player. Roy Helu has entered the radar as a pass-catcher up to this point. Trent Richardson while extraordinary in college has failed to live up to any of the expectations set before him. However, he has ability and maybe he just needs the right team and situation to get back on the superstar track.
Talent is only relevant if it materializes and this is the case with these three talented players. Competitors rise to the occasion and this group could prove be the catalyst to spark new energies and possibilities in an offensive unit that has been, up to this point, marginal at the running back position.
